Wedding in Corfu, Greece

Words are often not enough to express the depth of the feelings I develop for the couples I have the pleasure to meet and bond with for every photo shoot… The truth is I had been looking forward to the wedding of Christos & Abi for a long time. I had already got an idea of what our cooperation would be like while spending some time with them for the purposes of our first shooting a few months ago, but I had never expected the wonderful experience that was in store for me… I just knew I wanted to share this happy occasion with this lovely couple, their fantastic friends, and their adorable and so emotional families…

First and foremost, Abi and Christos are from New York. It’s always great to work with clients from across the globe. They decided to host their destination wedding in Greece (Corfu) because Christos’s family lineage started from here.

From the very first day, my heart almost exploded with joy. The atmosphere pulsated with love, excitement, and energy and everything had been planned to perfection. “Abi made the decisions about all the details of the wedding,” said Christos, “but I was the one who decided in which part of the planet it would take place.” The skills of a perfectly matched couple combined ideally to ensure a truly perfect wedding…
It was a glorious experience, from the impressive private Villa in Corfu to the sailing trip to the enchanting islands of Paxi and Antipaxi and every single day spent in the company of people that make you wish to live each moment to the fullest. The guests had come from all over the world – the United States, England, Nigeria – to attend one of the best weddings of the year. Whenever I looked through the lens of my camera I saw nothing but smiling faces, sweet moments, and beautiful scenes. The emotion was palpable. What more could a photographer wish for?
I have never witnessed a wedding so rich in colour. It might sound a bit controversial, but this was precisely the reason I felt that this post should include some black and white pictures too…
None of the above would have been possible without the invaluable contribution of a very special person. Rarely can you see the newlyweds and all their guests express their gratitude and appreciation to the wedding planner with a prolonged applause… Vana Efkleidou, from White Ribbon, coordinated everything impeccably, turning the wedding into an amazing event. Vana’s eye for aesthetics and her experience in the wedding planning industry guaranteed an ideal result, as evidently shown by the pictures of the decoration details.
I must also add that this wedding gave me the chance to work with George Zorbas, a very good friend and a tremendously talented videographer!
One last confession… 
The beauty of the couple was so inspiring that I felt it constantly pushing me to surpass myself. It actually changed my perspective and in the end I believe I was led to leave the “beaten track” and find a brand new path to respond to this photographic challenge…
