Niall & Chrysi | Wedding in Sifnos, Greece

Ενας απο τους αγαπημενους μου προορισμους μπορω να πω πως ειναι η Σιφνος. Δεν φανταζομουν ποτε οτι μετα τον γαμο της Λινας & του James το νησι αυτο θα αποκτουσε τοσο ξεχωριστη θεση στη καρδια μου… Χειμωνιατικο ραντεβου λοιπον πριν καποιους μηνες, με τον Niall & την Chrysi μεσω skype και βρισκομαστε να συζηταμε για τον γαμο τους στη Σιφνο. Δεν μπορω να σας περιγραψω ποσο ηθελα να ημουν εκει μαζι τους. Τα χρωματα, το φως η αρχιτεκτονικη του νησιου… Ολα ειναι σε ιδανικες καταστασεις και σε συνδυασμο με την τελεια ωργανωση της Ρονιας απο την Sifnos Events δεν αφηνουν περιθωρια αλλης επιλογης.
Ξεκινωντας, βρισκομαι να συνταξιδευω με τον Γιαννη Αλεφαντου… Ισως νομιζετε οτι αστειευομαι, αλλα ο Θεος εφερε τα πραγματα ετσι, ωστε να ειμαστε για ξεχωριστες φωτογραφισεις ο καθενας, με δυο ζευγαρια απο διαφορετικα σημεια του πλανητη στο ιδιο νησι… Φανταστειτε την χαρα μου… Δεν πιστευα οτι την ωρα την ωρα του γαμου των παιδιων, ηταν εκει μαζι μου. Η βοηθεια του ειναι για εμενα τοσο πολυτιμη. Ενα μεγαλο ευχαριστω ισως να μην αρκει. Υπαρχουν στιγμες που σκεφτομαι πως αν ολα αυτα που ζω το τελευταιο διαστημα, μου τα περιεγραφε καποιος πριν καιρο, σιγουρα δεν θα τον πιστευα…
Η μεγαλυτερη εκπληξη, ηταν οταν τελικα εφτασα στο νησι και μερα με τη μερα εβλεπα τον χαρακτηρα των παιδιων. Τοσο απλοι & λιτοι σε ολες τους τις επιλογες σε τετοιο βαθμο που με βοηθησαν να αναθεωρησω πολλα πραγματα… Niall & Chrysi σας ευχαριστω για τις τελειες στιγμες & για την εμπιστοσυνη σας!

Sifnos is definitely one of my favourite destinations. Little did I know before Lina and James’s wedding that this island would soon hold such a special part in my heart…
I remember my winter appointment with Niall and Chrysi through Skype a few months back. Our conversation revolved around their plans to get married in Sifnos. I found the idea thrilling and couldn’t wait to be there with them. The fascinating colours, the dazzling sunlight, and the unique Cycladic architecture of the island blend in perfect harmony and, in combination with the impeccable organization by Ronia of Sifnos Events, create the ideal setting for a really unforgettable wedding.
My trip started in the best possible way, as I found myself on the same boat as Yiannis Alefantou… No, I’m not joking; it was a happy coincidence that we were both travelling to the same island to photograph the weddings of two couples from different parts of the world… This was a most welcome surprise that added greatly to the pleasure of the trip. And later, during Niall and Chrysi’s wedding, Yiannis was there, with me. I couldn’t believe my luck. His help is so precious to me that I simply can’t find the words to thank him. There are times when I think to myself that if someone had described to me some years ago everything I have been experiencing lately, I would never have believed them…
What impressed me most, though, was the quality of the couple’s character, which I had the chance to discover day by day. They are so simple and unassuming in each one of their choices and have influenced me so deeply helping me reconsider many things in life… Niall and Chrysi, thank you for all the great moments and for your trust in me and my work!
