Although I travel extensively as a professional wedding photographer, this was practically the first time I had the chance to shoot a wedding in one of the 3 top wedding destinations –especially for couples from the Far East: Santorini.
When I first spoke with Misa and Kai about their wedding in Santorini and found out about their Japanese roots, I was thrilled because through this incredibly gentle and sweet-tempered couple I would be able to get in touch with a world that I sincerely love and admire: Japanese culture. Ever since I started discovering the magic of the arts, the beauty, grace and harmony of Japanese aesthetics and philosophy have influenced me profoundly. Japanese poetry and literature, as well as the exquisite photography of Japanese cinema, have always fascinated me, and even the timbre of this musical language sounds mellifluous to me!
I can say that the experience of Misa and Kai’s wedding on the island that offers the most breathtaking sunsets was everything I had imagined –and so much more. Honestly, I feel so lucky when I meet and work with such warm and beautiful people. Their innate kindness and respect for the others motivated me to give my 100% to make them happy!
The wedding ceremony took place in a fantastic venue, Santorini Gem, on the hill next to Santo Wines, which offers magnificent views of the island’s caldera and the volcano.
An additional advantage for me was the chance to cooperate with planners Julia and Evita from Santorini Glam Weddings, who put all their love, talent and creativity into the splendid decoration and the effort to organize everything perfectly.
Misa and Kai, thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me as your wedding photographer and for allowing me to share the wonderful experience of your wedding in Santorini!
