A Scottish wedding celebration in Mykonos island
I’ve always been fascinated by the rugged beauty and rich culture of Scotland, a land of legends and magic, but professional and family responsibilities have not allowed me to visit it yet. This year, however, I got lucky because Scotland came to me! A beautiful couple, Kelsey and Daniel, who happens to come from Scotland, chose to get married in Greece, in one of the most popular wedding destinations worldwide, Mykonos, the sunkissed Cycladic queen. A Scottish wedding on the most famous Greek island combines the best of both worlds. What more could a wedding photographer ask for?
Royal Mykonian Wedding Venue
The Royal Myconian, a luxury resort commanding stunning views over the long sandy beach of Elia, was an ideal choice for hosting the wedding preparations and ceremony.
The wedding day started with the preparation of the bridegroom with the help of his twin brother and a good friend. All three of them, as well as the bridegroom’s father, were dressed in traditional Scottish attire that had come all the way from their homeland in special packaging…
Wedding preparations & Ceremony
As to Kelsey, she was a vision of beauty indeed in an ethereal wedding dress perfectly matching her boho bridal bouquet and the minimalist tasteful decoration.
A particularly sweet and touching scene took place right before the ceremony when Kelsey met her father, who was waiting for her, ready to give her away to the happy bridegroom!
When Daniel, who was standing in front of the pretty triangle arch prepared by NAIDOWEDDINGS group, saw the 4 cute flower girls arrive (along with an adorable little fellow who could hardly walk!), he realized that Kelsey was about to appear and turned to see her walking down the aisle escorted by her proud father. It was a very special moment that they had both been dreaming of for so long!
It is worth noting that the celebrants were two close friends of the couple, which allowed them to share moving and funny stories about them with the guests. And then the time came for Kelsey and Daniel to exchange vows and pledge their love. It was an emotionally charged moment for all present!
After the completion of the ceremony, the newlyweds walked hand in hand among the cheering guests under a rain of olive leaves. The atmosphere was equally enthusiastic a little later, when they entered the reception area, which had also been decorated in boho style and wonderful colours by the talented group of Naidoweddings.
Then the newlyweds cut the elegant wedding cake and Daniel gave a very moving speech, thanking their guests, his parents and Kelsey’s parents, and lastly addressing himself to his new wife with so much love that many felt close to tears and the air pulsed with joy for the couple.
Later, after witnessing a breathtaking sunset on the beach of Elia, the couple celebrated the beginning of their new life together having a fabulous time among dear friends and relatives at an amazing party with lots of music, dancing and fun – and some unbelievable dance moves!
Dear Kelsey & Daniel, thank you from the bottom of my heart for honouring me with your trust and for giving me the chance to capture the happiest moments of your big day!
