I still remember Hara’s phone call from London. “I have noticed how fond you are of colour,” she told me, “so I have decided to change the whole concept of the wedding and make it a little bit more colourful.” I couldn’t agree more; for no theme can be more inspiring and exciting for a photographer than a wedding painted in the colours of love…
It’s really hard to describe how ecstatically happy I feel about the love that I receive from the couples I photograph every year; you can’t believe in the miracle of sharing all this love unless you have experienced it. And I assure you, it is one of the best and most fulfilling aspects of this job!
The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino, a luxury hotel in stunningly beautiful Pylos, Messinia, was the ideal canvas for ‘painting’ this wedding. I was already familiar with the beauty and the tranquillity of the environment, as I was fortunate enough to have been there before: last year I shot Christos and Keke’s wedding in the Romanos, another amazing high-end resort in Costa Navarino.
We all gathered on the golden beach of Chryssi Akti for a small beach party and a meal. This was the prelude to the wedding day, which started, as usual, in the bride’s suite, and culminated with the wedding ceremony, in the dreamlike atmosphere of the Westin Resort. I hope my camera has managed to capture all the colours of happiness that the day was imbued with!
The wedding party took place at the Golf Club, which gave me the idea of a most suitable epilogue: a photoshoot in the awesome green landscape with the spectacular views the day after the wedding.
