Many couples had often asked me to make a post with B&W images, so I had been thinking about it for quite a while. Out of respect for their admittedly fantastic idea, I finally decided to give it a try… Now I’m glad I did. And to say that I found the challenge absolutely enjoyable would simply be an understatement…
For this “experiment” to work, I turned for help to Adam Alex, an accomplished artist and a good friend of mine. And Adam asked if I could beta test the Factory Men presets that give a picture a whole new perspective.
Right now I wish I could find the words to express my feelings… It’s really amazing to see your images in just two colours, which do, however, highlight so beautifully the contrast between light and shading. And it’s not that I haven’t done this sort of thing before. Believe me, I’ve spent many hours printing photos, the peculiar smell of the dark room hovering in the air… But this was a long time ago, when I used to shoot film.
The guys at Factory Men have done a great job with the research on these Factory B&W presets and I think they are the best solution for any photographer who loves B&W.
For my part, I have tried to play with each of the 12 different B&W styles that Factory gives you with the package and you may now see the results. I am so excited because every picture, every frame is so different, but with these terrific presets the results are truly unique.
Don’t you agree that there’s something magical about black and white photos? I personally find them irresistibly atmospheric and I’m fascinated by their dream-like quality, which reminds us that photography is indeed the poetry of the images.
